Placing implants is usually far more comfortable than patients expect, similar to having a tooth removed. We use local anaesthetic and take time to ensure you feel at ease, as well as offering sedation to help you feel even more relaxed.
Sometimes existing dentures can be adapted, but in many cases, we recommend new dentures made specifically to attach to implants.
This depends on whether you’re replacing an upper or lower denture, but often as few as two to four implants can provide a secure fit.
With good care, implants can last for decades. Dentures may eventually need replacement due to natural wear, but they will remain secure on your implants. It is important to see the team at Gibside Dental every 3 months to ensure long-term health and stability of the implants.
