What are implant-retained dentures?

Implant-retained dentures combine the stability of dental implants with the convenience of dentures. A series of implants is placed into the jawbone, and specially designed dentures clip securely onto them.

The result is a denture that feels more natural, more secure, and far more reliable than a traditional removable plate. For many long-term denture wearers—or for those who have put off treatment because they feared instability—this can be a life-changing step.

Your treatment journey

• Step 1 – Consultation: We’ll discuss your concerns, assess your oral health and bone structure, and talk through whether implant-retained dentures are the right choice for you.
  
• Step 2 – Planning: Digital scans and 3D X-rays, combined with detailed planning, allow us to position the implants with precision.
  
• Step 3 – Placement: Small titanium implants are gently placed in the jaw under local anaesthetic. These serve as the anchors for your dentures. We can also offer to do this with sedation if required.
  
• Step 4 – Fitting your dentures: Once healed, your custom-made dentures will be attached securely to the implants—creating a comfortable, stable solution.
